Reporting conflicts - an Asian perspective

The session will focus on the role of media in reporting conflicts, and what can be done when they are not allowed to cover a conflict fully - with Sri Lanka and Gaza as two examples. The session will also look at the new media and how they might help journalists get around restrictions on covering conflicts. It will also focus on the safety of journalists in conflict zones and what can be done to give them better protection.
