Tajdar Alam

Leading broadcaster in Pakistan

 

 

Mr. Tajdar Alam is a leading broadcaster in Pakistan and with his vast, over three decades experience in electronic media he is currently the managing director of the educational television network of Virtual University TV. He is ranked as one of those pillars who have made Television not only an entertainment industry in Pakistan but also helped put the country on the international scene.

Born in 1951, Mr. Alam belongs to tribal areas of the North Western Frontier Province and thoroughly understands the traditions and affairs of these areas which are in conflict now. Alam got his MFA degree from Royal Academy of Film & Television, UK. He was the first qualified professional to have launched the first Television channel ‘NTM' in the Private Sector. He was also the pioneer of launching a full-fledged TV channel specifically for the Asians in Europe called TV Asia in UK.

The Government of Pakistan's desire to spread information technology in every nook and corner in the country and for Pakistanis living abroad decided to launch four educational TV channels. For such an ambitious and important project, Tajdar Alam was selected to head these channels.

Tajdar Alam, a trendsetter, has given his 35 valuable years for the promotion and development of Television in Pakistan and abroad. He also has to his credit a brilliant record of innumerable Television programs, which have won him laurels and awards. He has also trained more than 400 Television Professionals who are serving different networks in Pakistan and abroad.
