Israel Yoroba
Somalian Journalist and Blogger
Israel Yoroba is an independant journalist from Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire) Yoroba worked several years for print media before he started blogging. In December 2007 he launched the blog "Le Blog de Yoro" where he published information about everyday life of the Ivorians.
He received an award as "Best Francophone blogger" during the Bobs awards ceremony in Germany in 2008. Furthermore he was awarded the "Prix Spécial du meilleur Blog de Journaliste d'Afrique de l'Ouest" (special award as best blogger from West Africa) during the Waxal competition in Dakar.
In February 2009 Yoroba also launched "Avenue225.com", a collective blog. Together with four young bloggers - trained by Yoroba - he is contributing to "Avenue225.com".
