
Arthur Landwehr was born 1958 in Germany. He studied German Language and Literature, History and Communication Arts at the University of Freiburg, Germany and the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida, USA. He began his career as a radio journalist 1987 in Freiburg, at regional studio of "Südwestfunk" (SWF), today "Südwestrundfunk" (SWR). 1990 he became editor and reporter in the department for politics and business at SWF in Baden-Baden. In 1994 Landwehr changed to the marketing department of SWF, became its head and the spokesperson for SWF/SWR. Back into radio journalism in 1999 SWR sent him to Washington, DC as a foreign correspondent for all SWR radio programs. For his reporting from the United States Landwehr received the "German-American Radio Award" of the RIAS-Commission Berlin in 2005. Since May 2006 Landwehr is Editor in Chief for news and information at SWR radio.
