This year's Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum brings foremost minds face-to-face in Bonn to brainstorm on topics ranging from autonomous weaponry, militainment and other cutting-edge issues related to digital war and peace. High-profile representatives from 100 countries, such as artificial intelligence expert Noel Sharkey from the University of Sheffield in England (pictured left) and Peter Mantello, professor for new media at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan, have gathered in Bonn to discuss the impact of mobile communications technologies on political crisis and warfare and to stimulate initiatives to progress conflict prevention in the multimedia age.
